Our Story:
Because We Never Stopped Loving the Hunt
We started Rustic inds & More because we never really left it.
It began years ago, on dusty Saturday mornings at flea markets and backroad Southern Georgia auctions in nStatesboro, Georgia.. While others walked past chipped teapots and faded velvet chairs, we saw possibility. A $3 lamp became a statement piece. A cracked mirror framed a gallery wall. We bought what spoke to us—what had soul, history, and a whisper of “I still have life in me.”
We called it a hobby. Then life happened: careers, moves, mortgages, the grind. The auction paddles got tucked away. The thrill of the find faded under fluorescent office lights.
But some loves don’t die—they wait.
One rainy afternoon in 2016, clearing out our garage, we found a box: a brass candlestick we’d haggled for at a yard sale, a patchwork quilt won for $12, a wooden crate stamped with a farm long gone. We looked at each other and laughed—then got quiet. We missed this.
So we went back. Not as hobbyists. As believers.
We hit the markets again. Dawn bids. Dusty warehouses. Estate sales where grandkids just wanted the house empty. We bought what we loved, restored what was broken, and priced it so others could love it too.
Among the cobwebs and forgotten trunks, we uncovered treasures: hand-hewn dough bowls, chipped enamelware, a 1920s quilt stitched with love, and a rocking chair that creaked like it had stories to tell. Instead of hauling it all to the curb, She whispered, “What if we didn’t let these pieces fade away?”
Rustic Finds & More was born in that garage—out of nostalgia, yes, but also conviction: that value isn’t in the price tag. It’s in the story. The craft. The second chance.
Word spread. Farmers dropped off heirlooms. City folks drove hours for “that perfect imperfect piece.” What started as weekend pop-ups grew into Rustic Finds & More—a curated haven of reclaimed wood, vintage textiles, and one-of-a-kind décor, each tagged with the story of where it came from and who it once belonged to.
Since 2016 lot happened, Marriage then divorce, Life changing almost fatal car accident, death of my father, and broken heart may life in absolute awe—shattered routines, empty closets, and a silence so loud it echoed. The house we cherished felt like a museum of someone else’s dreams. I walked out with a shattered dream and a heart that didn’t know where to land.
But one thing never left me: the passion for thrift and give a second chance to things that can help someone to make it through thed ordeals of life.
Then it started again stronger than ever—weekends at flea markets, bidding wars over forgotten treasures, the rush of spotting a mid-century lamp buried under junk. I’d restore, reimagine, resell. It wasn’t about money. It was about seeing. Seeing value where others saw trash. Seeing beauty in the broken.
During the divorce and my mid life crisis, I stopped. For a while, I couldn’t even look at a yard sale sign without tears. But passion doesn’t ask permission.
One morning, I found myself at an estate auction—habit, muscle memory, survival. I bought a cracked porcelain pitcher for $2. Took it home. Cleaned it. Painted the crack gold—kintsugi style. It wasn’t just repaired. It was reborn. And so was I.
That pitcher became the first piece in Rustic Finds & More.
I started small: Instagram stories of before-and-afters. A folding table at local markets. Friends donated their “get-rid-ofs.” Strangers sent DMs: “I have my mom’s old sewing machine—will you take it?” Every yes was a stitch pulling me back together.
Today, every piece in our shop has been touched by our hands and chosen by our hearts. We’re not resellers. We’re rediscoverers. And we’re proof that when life pulls you away from what you love, sometimes it’s just making room for you to come back—wiser, braver, and ready to build something real.
Every item in our shop is a second chapter. We’re not just selling furniture and finds; we’re passing down legacy, one restored relic at a time. Because to us, rustic isn’t a style—it’s a promise: that beauty deepens with age, and every scratch tells a story worth keeping.
Welcome to Rustic Finds & More. We see the value. We always have.
